Coming from a generation of blind lovers I have been slow to appreciate the joy a cosy pair of curtains can bring. Drawing them at night brings warmth and privacy unmatched by any Venetian I have ever known. Opening them in the morning gives me those first precious rays of sunshine. The luxury of this experience is down to the inner lining which, in layman’s terms, is basically a blanket. Hidden between the curtain and its lining it matters little what it looks like, and is the perfect use for those lovely old blankets that are taking up far too much storage space.
